Find out who went running to FIFA over Chelsea's alleged inducement of Gael Kakuta in our look through the Sunday papers.

The fall-out from the affair that nobody is calling 'Kakutagate ' continues for Chelsea, with the press reporting that the west Londoners have had to rip up their January transfer wish list.

Read on to find out all the latest on the affair, plus news on who might be bidding for West Ham, which superstar is the latest to be linked with a move to Notts County and how David Beckham hopes to captain his country once again:

The critical and damning evidence in the Gael Kakuta inquiry was provided by a member of the player's family.

Chelsea were astonished to be banned from signing players until January 2011 after being found guilty by FIFA of poaching French starlet Kakuta from Lens.

The Stamford Bridge club insist they have done nothing wrong and are appealing against the tough penalty to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

But a source inside FIFA has revealed to the Sunday Mirror that a statement provided from inside the Kakuta family was the evidence that provoked world football's governing body into meting out their transfer ban. (Sunday Mirror)

Roman Abramovich is seething after Chelsea's transfer ban ruined his chances of bringing Franck Ribery to Stamford Bridge in January.

France star Ribery was poised to move to Stamford Bridge in January - but Russian billionaire Abramovich has been forced to scrap the £40m signing.

Chelsea's plans have been thrown into chaos by FIFA's ban, which prevents the Blues from doing any deals during the next two transfer windows.

And that means Ribery now seems certain to leave Bayern Munich for Real Madrid instead. (News of the World)

Chelsea's transfer ban until January 2011 has left Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero wondering about his future and the Stamford Bridge club fearing they could now lose out on the Argentina striker.

Aguero was due to move to Chelsea, either in the new year or the summer, after Roman Abramovich's club decided not to do a deal last month due to the forward, 21, being cup-tied for Europe.

But now that deal and all incoming Chelsea moves for the next two transfer windows are on hold while the club appeals against their ban. (Daily Star Sunday)

Manchester City will tell Barcelona that the only way Robinho will move to the Nou Camp is if the Catalans agree to a swap deal that includes Lionel Messi.

Reports in Spain claim Barca boss Pep Guardiola has already made Robinho, 25, his No.1 New Year target after City boss Mark Hughes refused to consider the departure of the Brazilian before the transfer window closed last Tuesday.

But Barcelona still believe a deal can be resurrected for City's £32.5m British record signing in January - if the Blues can line up a world-class name to replace him.

European champions Barca are willing to include Thierry Henry in part-exchange for Robinho. (Sunday Mirror)

Ali al-Faraj, the Saudi property investor who recently failed in his attempts to buy Portsmouth, is believed to be considering a bid for West Ham United. Al-Faraj, who claimed to have agreed a deal to buy Pompey at the end of August, is thought to have set his sights on the heavily indebted East End club.

It is not known if Peter Storrie, chief executive of Portsmouth and former managing director at West Ham who brought Al-Faraj into the bidding process at Pompey at the 11th hour, is involved in the approach. (Independent on Sunday)

Sven-Goran Eriksson has made a sensational move to bring Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos to Notts County.

The former England boss, now director of football at Meadow Lane, wants the world-famous defender to join his growing ultra-ambitious League Two outfit.

Eriksson, bankrolled by millions from Middle Eastern investors, is keen to make the 36-year-old left-back his second big- name acquisition. (News of the World)

David Beckham is offering to lead Great Britain's football team at the London 2012 Olympics.

The England star is desperate to be involved after playing a key role in helping capture the Games.

Leytonstone-born Becks said: "I was very proud to play a part in bringing the Olympics to London. It was such a great thrill when we were awarded them so to go on to be a part of 2012 itself will be just terrific. I would certainly love to be involved with the GB football team."
