New season same old Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners' boss is making the most of the moral high ground, complaining after the match that United beat them by playing "anti-football"
"I have seen a player who plays on the pitch only to make fouls," he said. "For me, this is a point that is more urgent than diving.
"The players who are never punished, who get out of the game without a yellow card. I think it is more anti-football than a player who did what Eduardo did."
The irony of the fact that Wenger's players used to collect red cards like children collect Panini stickers will no doubt be lost on him.
When will football managers realise that football fans know when they are having the wool pulled over their eyes. Wenger's post match comments are designed to fill the back pages and news programmes with his quotes of injustice rather than focus on his teams short comings. What Mr Wenger should be doing is to try and understand how his team were not only unable to win a game they had in their control but more importantly how did they lose the game. He should focus on why his goalkeeper tried to win a ball he was never going to get.
There is no doubt Arsenal played well on Saturday and should have got something out of the game however United showed why they are champions, not playing well but wining the game.
Darren Fletcher was by a far the best player on the pitch, a true fans player, running himself into ground for the United cause. Why Mr Wenger would choose to criticise such and honest professional player such as Darren Fletcher speaks volumes. Mr Wenger used to have player just like Fletcher, his name was Mathieu Flamini. I wonder what the result would have been if Flamini has played for Arsenal of Saturday.
Arsenal need to buy an experienced midfielder if they want to seriously contest the title. Will Arsenal fans put up with another trophy less season! I don't think so Mr Wenger.
